Kaziranga National Park
Kaziranga National Park is a protected area in the northeast Indian state of Assam. Spread across the floodplains of the Brahmaputra River, its forests, wetlands and grasslands are home to tigers, elephants and the world's largest population of Indian one-horned rhinoceroses. Ganges River dolphins swim in the park's waters. It's visited by many rare migratory birds, and gray pelicans roost near Kaziranga village.
Majuli
MÄjuli or Majoli is a river island in the Brahmaputra River, Assam and in 2016 it became the first island to be made a district in India. It had an area of 880 square kilometres at the beginning of the 20th century, but having lost significantly to erosion it covers 352 square kilometres as at 2014.
Kamakhya Temple
Kamakhya Temple is one of the 51 Shakti peeths in India and dedicated to Goddess Kamakhya. An important pilgrimage place for Hindus specially for Tantrik worshippers. This temple has been renovated many time after its destruction but 1665 rebuilt has kept the entire temple complex intact and it is well maintained till date. Many mythological stories are associated with it .
Sibsagar
Ahom who rules Assam for nearly 600 years had their Capital in erstwhile Rangpur and present day Shivasagar dist. of Assam. They built some of the marvellous structures still stands tall. Largest amphitheatre Rang ghar, Kareng ghar, Talatal ghar, famous Shiva Temple with huge pond, Charaideo maidam are some of the must visit spots in Northeast India.
